Police Seek Driver In Collision With Pedestrian In Early Hours

A pedestrian suffered back and neck injuries after he was in collision with a car in Southway, Guildford early on Tuesday morning (January 19).

police vestOfficers were called to the scene of the incident at around 12.30am. The vehicle involved is described as a small silver hatchback.

It is reported that the driver, described as a small Asian man, had stopped, but left scene after the pedestrian’s friend told him to leave as at that that time he wasn’t believed to be injured.

However, the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was later taken to hospital with back and neck injuries.

PC Simon Ives, said: “I would urge the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision to contact police as he may be able to provide vital information that could help us piece together the circumstances surrounding the collision. Similarly, any witnesses should call 101.”

Officers are carrying out a number of enquiries but would like the driver or anyone who witnessed the collision or with any other information to contact them straightaway.
