Michael More-Molyneux of Loseley House gave a talk about his family’s history.

He outlined the building of the house in the early 16th century and went on to talk about some of the remarkable personalities who lived there over the centuries.

He finally spoke about his duties as Lord Lieutenant of Surrey of which he is the representative of the Queen, and showed the group his seals of office.

Acorns History Group was started in 1999 and meets fortnightly at Guildford Rugby Club. The group has a wide variety of speakers, many from within the group, on all historic matters and periods.

It annual gala morning is usually held at Guildford’s historic Guildhall, when a well known speaker addresses the group. This is usually a university professor, history writer or, as in this case, a local dignitary.
