Air Ambulance Attends Guildford Collision

The air ambulance attended a two-car collision in Egerton Road, near to Tesco supermarket and the Royal Surrey County Hospital, this afternoon. One man was seriously injured and flown to St George’s Hospital.

A large number of emergency vehicles were observed at the scene but at 3.30pm traffic was still flowing.

Air ambulance waits nearby in Bannisters Field.

A statement from Surrey police at 3.40pm stated: “Surrey Police is in attendance following a two vehicle collision in Guildford which took place earlier this afternoon (January 3).

“Officers were called following the collision, which took place near the Tesco supermarket around 2.30pm and involved a red Vauxhall Astra and a grey Vauxhall Insignia.

“A man in his 30s suffered serious injuries and was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting by air ambulance. Emergency services remain at the scene and the investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident remains ongoing.”

The police are asking for anyone with any information to contact them on 101, quoting incident reference number P17001858.
