Visitors and clients at the Park Barn Social Centre helped to raise a generous £502 for Macmillan Cancer Support, with a table top sale and raffle.

Alice Wetz: through her organisation of a raffle and a table top sale £502 was raised at the Park Barn Social Centre for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Alice Wets, aged 79, who has been a volunteer at the Guildford Borough Council-run day centre for elderly people, masterminded the fundraising last week.
She said: “It was all a bit hectic, but we raised a great deal of money for a good cause.
“I had to hand-write 1,200 names on the back of each of the raffle tickets that people bought.”
Alice arranged the raffle and the table top sale with help from other volunteers.
At one time she volunteered at the centre four days a week, but now helps out when, as she says “they are short staffed”.
But her fundraising will continue. Alice said: “I have already been sent Christmas raffle rickets by Macmillan, and I also support Battersea Dogs Home and the British Heart Foundation.”
Well done to Alice and everyone at the Park Barn Social Centre who supported Macmillan.
