Appeal After Dog’s Burned and Mutilated Body Found in Merrow Field

The body of a mutilated dog was found by a woman while out walking her dog in fields at Park Lane, near the Clandon Park garden centre, on Wednesday, April 10 and reported the next day.

On the Tuesday (April 9), the woman had seen a group of local teenagers in the field and had heard one say: “Is it dead yet?” When she investigated the day after she found the body.

The greyhound-type dog, which had suffered multiple injuries, was taken to a local vet. Police are investigating and want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed what happened, or with any other information which could help. They are also trying to establish who owned the dog.
