Assault in The Chase – Police Seek Witnesses

A 19-year-old man was assaulted on The Chase in Guildford last week and Surrey Police is hoping witnesses will come forward to assist with their evidence gathering.

Officers were called to the scene at around 10.30pm on Sunday (July 16) following reports of a disturbance.

Three 17-year-olds were arrested, including two women who have been released from custody and eliminated from enquiries with no further action.

A 17-year-old man, whose age prevents his name being given, has been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and possession of a bladed article. He is due to appear in court on August 14, 2017.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Claire Phillips said, “This assault occurred late in the evening in a residential street and resulted in a young man being seriously injured. We are appealing for anyone who has any information about the incident to come forward by calling 101 and quoting reference 45170077162.”
