Back to School and Symptom-Free Testing for Households and Bubbles

Anyone in the same household, childcare or support bubble as a pupil or someone who works in a school or college, is now eligible for twice-weekly symptom-free testing, the county council has said.

Regular, rapid Covid-19 testing will help reduce transmissions as lockdown restrictions begin to ease. Those eligible can book, collect or order regular symptom-free tests:

Book an appointment at the nearest symptom-free testing site or pharmacy

Visit the online booking system

Phone: 020 8865 1952 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6pm, Saturday, 9am to 5pm, local charges will apply)

Home-test kits cannot be collected from these sites. You can only pre-book an appointment to take a test on-site.

Pick up a symptom-free home-test from your nearest collection point

Some local testing sites are also collection points for symptom-free home-tests. You cannot collect home-test kits from our symptom-free Targeted Community Testing sites. Find the nearest collection site on the NHS site finder.

  • You do not need to book an appointment;
  • You can collect two packs of home-test kits, each containing seven tests; and
  • You must be over 18 years old.

After completing each test, every result (positive, negative or void) must be reported to NHS Test and Trace, on the same day as the test. Report results online or call 119.

Order a symptom-free test to be delivered

Anyone who cannot get tests at their workplace, are unable to go to a test site or collect a test kit, can order a home-test kit from the GOV.UK website.

Getting results

Anyone who tests positive or gets coronavirus symptoms, should tell the school and:

A negative result means the test did not find signs of coronavirus. But this does not guarantee you do not have coronavirus, so you should keep following all coronavirus advice including:

  • Regular handwashing;
  • Social distancing; and
  • Wearing a face-covering where recommended.
