We were privileged to host Shami who spoke eloquently on a number of topics including the need to overcome ideologically driven austerity.

She gave an example of her local small supermarket now locking the meet freezer with a padlock to prevent local families from stealing the content, and the appalling situation of nurses having to use food banks.

Shame on the government for creating a society that does not care for the many, and prefers to cosy up to the few wealthiest individuals.

There will always be a place in Guildford for those who do care, and who want to make the future better for everyone.
