Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A3 yesterday (Thursday, April 14).
At around 11.14am a motorbike and a lorry were involved in a collision near the Guildford Cathedral slip road on the Northbound carriageway of the A3.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s from Farnham, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The next of kin have been informed.
Sergeant Eddie Ryan from Surrey Police Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I am urging anybody who witnessed the collision or events leading up to the collision to get in touch with us.”
“Any information you have could help us piece together the events of this tragic incident.”
The A3 was fully closed northbound between Milford and the A25 Dennis’ roundabout and partially closed southbound for around five hours whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.
Traffic in Guildford was severely affected. At around 4pm traffic was observed queuing for two miles on the A3100 between Godalming and Guildford and there were many reports of delays and gridlock throughout the town.
