Ben’s Collector’s Records Is A Top 10 Hit!

Ben’s Collector’s Records in Tunsgate, Guildford, has scored a top 10 chart position – being chosen as one of the most favourite shops of its kind in the UK.

Last month the Observer newspaper ran a story highlighting the best independent record shops across the country. Then the Independent newspaper in its culture section ran a feature in which its readers were invited to name, with photos, their best record stores.

The story can be found on its website with a picture gallery of the top 10 shops. Ben’s is the first one you see when you click on to it.

The Independent asked: “Where do you spend hours flipping through racks of vinyl, looking for that rare collectable album? Is there a shop near you where you know you’ll find the best new music? Where the staff can tell which record you’re looking for just by your description of the cover?”

Well, if you’re in Guildford it’s got to be Ben’s! Under the caption to the picture of his shop on the Independent’s website, the comment from ‘Photoboy’ reads: “Ben’s Records was pretty much the only reason I ever went to Guildford, once I’d grown out of my Games Workshop phase! His bargain bins are legendary.”
