Book Now For Voluntary Action’s 2020 Conference

Bookings are now open for Voluntary Action South West Surrey’s annual conference.

It is being held on Monday, March 31 at the Rik Medlik Building at the University of Surrey, Guildford, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

The title of this year’s conference is ‘Together’. There will be guest speakers, workshops and networking to support groups and organisations who work in the volunteer sector.

Speakers include Joanna Killian, Surrey County Council; Karl Wilding, National Council of Voluntary Organisations; Maria Zealey, Surrey Welfare Rights Unit; Tara Rowe, Reconnections; Debbie Boulter, Cherry Trees; and Corin Harrison, Space to Grow community garden.

Delegates can choose to attend two workshops during the day from nine on offer.

These will be: Do you want to lobby to get government policy or legislation changed?  – led by Anne Milton.

Getting the best results when promoting your organisation – led by David Rose, of Voluntary Action South West Surrey.

Working with student volunteers – led by Ian Handy, University of Surrey Students’ Union.

Social Prescribing in Guildford and Waverley – led by Jane Soothill and Nicola Freeman of Voluntary Action South West Surrey.

Finding the trustees you need to thrive – led by Lynn Cadman, national recruitment charity Getting on Board.

Fraud – prevention is better than cure – led by Matt Wilson.

Improving communication and building rapport – led by Nikki Bonner of Just Be NLP & Coaching.

Small Grant, Big Success – led by Helen Stanley.

Cloud Computing – led by Phil Clifford-Brown.

Places are available for just £25 per person, to include lunch and refreshments and parking at the University of Surrey.
