Man’s Body Found in Eastgate Gardens, Guildford

The body of a man, previously reported by the Police as being a woman, was discovered this morning (February 6) in Guildford town centre.

Surrey Police officers are investigating after the body of a woman was found in Eastgate Gardens, Guildford, on Tuesday, February 5.

The man was found in Eastgate Gardens around 9.30am and Surrey Police officers are investigating.

The York Road car park has been closed while officers examine the scene and the circumstances of the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained. A number of road closures are also in place in the area.

A police statement said: “Further updates will be issued in due course but in the meantime, anyone with any information is asked to contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting incident reference P17028751.”
