Challengers Children’s Charity Launches Its 2021 Art Auction

Challengers’ online art and craft auction is back by popular demand.

The Guildford-based charity, which provides recreational activities for disabled young people. is auctioning a wide range of paintings, prints, photography, sculpture and ceramics, all created by its supporters.

The charity has had a tough time during the pandemic.  When lockdown began in March 2020, the play scheme was forced to shut down its services completely and cancel upcoming fundraising events. There was a danger the charity would not survive.

But a statement this week said the charity had bounced back. “We’re very pleased that the charity is financially stable and we are able to deliver our much-needed services for local disabled children and their families.

“But we still rely heavily on generous donations from the public to support our work and to ensure our service is sustainable. For many families, being able to access Challengers is a lifeline, so it’s important that we’re here to support families now and in the future.”

The auction, the charity’s second, opened on Monday 15th November and will close at 6pm on Sunday 28th November

There are 49 pieces to choose from, including 13 created by children and young people who attend Challengers.
