Council Leader ‘Deeply Saddened’ by Councillor’s Death

The leader of Guildford Borough Council has added her condolences to those sent to the family and friends of Cllr Patrick Sheard, ward councillor for Send, who died on Friday, June 5.

Cllr Caroline Reeves, said: “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Cllr Patrick Sheard. Patrick was an enthusiastic and dedicated ward councillor, elected only last year. All councillors valued his contributions to debates and conversations.

“His wisdom and ready wit will be missed by councillors and officers alike and we send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.”

A GBC spokesperson added: “Patrick was a member of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Place Making and Innovation Executive Advisory Board, and will be greatly missed by his many colleagues and friends.”
