Covid Infection rates are on the rise once again in the Borough of Guildford in line with every borough and district in Surrey and the rest of the UK. In Surrey, they have almost doubled.

Covid-related hospital admissions are also on the increase. In Surrey 321 Covid patients were admitted during the week ending March 6 and across the South East region there were 1686 admissions, up by 326.

But just two of the 37 Covid patients at the Royal Surrey County Hospital are on ventilation. Covid-related deaths in Guildford have also remained relatively low although an increase linked to the “third (omicron) wave” can be discerned.

Observers will be hoping that infections will once again fall as we move into later spring and then the summer.
