With the supply of free Covid test kits due to come to an end on April 1, the Covid infection rate has continued to climb over the past week.

In line with nearly all of Southern England, the rate in Surrey is, at 1,042 per 100,000 of population, in the over 800, dark purple category.  In Guildford borough, it is only slightly lower at 1030 per 100k. And Covid-related hospital admissions also continue to increase in the county and the South East region.

But one bit of better news is that none of the 45 Covid patients in the Royal Surrey County Hospital required ventilation in the most recent reporting period.

I suspect that the government has already cut off supplies. I have Covid, and have been trying for a week to order a home kit. Each time, the response has been, “Sorry, there are no more home delivery slots for these tests right now.”
