The lead councillor for development management at Guildford Borough Council has announced that Taylor Wimpey’s planning application for Wisley has been referred back to the applicant because of an unspecified issue.

As a result, the public consultation has been delayed.

Cllr Tom Hunt

Cllr Tom Hunt (Lib Dem, Friary & St Nicolas) said: “An issue with the planning application for Wisley Airfield (22/P/01175) has been identified, meaning a delay to the consultation.

The developer, Taylor Wimpey, will need to correct and then resubmit the application.  Once we have the resubmitted application, the consultation can start and we will extend the deadline, allowing extra time to take into account the fact that it is the summer holidays.

“Issues like this are not uncommon with an application of this size. Thank you for your understanding.”

I wonder if the ‘issue’ is that the developer really meant to apply for the 3,000 homes they have always wanted.

Or could it be that the application does not address any of the 11 reasons for refusal at the last attempt, for which it was refused by the inspector.
