Did You See Fatal Collision in Compton?

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in Compton last night (24 January), involving a silver BMW and a white Ford Transit van.

Officers attended the accident at 11.35pm, between The Street in Compton and the junction with Binscombe Road but the BMW driver, a man in his thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The van driver, also in his thirties, is in hospital with serious injuries but his condition is said to be stable. A passenger in the van was uninjured.

The road was closed until 5.30am while emergency services investigated.
