Pat Scott is, once again, a parish councillor in Ash, representing Ash Wharf ward.

But as she explains she is not a novice, she was formerly a Conservative parish and Guildford borough councillor.

This time though, having last year criticised the parish council chairman, Nigel Manning’s conduct during an online hustings meeting, she is sitting as an Independent, saying that there is no place for party politics at parish council level.
