The campaign aims to raise funds for urgently needed repairs to the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit on Stag Hill.

Friary centre manager Vicky Hickson said: “It’s fantastic that we are able to support Guildford Cathedral by raising awareness of the Make Your Mark campaign. We want to encourage as many people as possible to come down and check out what is going on in the pop-up shop.”

The Dean of Guildford Cathedral, the Very Rev’s Dianna Gwilliams, said: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with the Friary centre for our new Make Your Mark shop. This is a really exciting opportunity for us to let visitors to the centre know about the urgency of the appeal. It’s a place for children and adults to learn about their cathedral, to have fun. And just as importantly, to share with us their memories of this unique building.”

The Make Your Mark campaign emulates the Buy A Brick campaign of the 1950s in which 200,000 people bought bricks to fund the final part of the construction of the cathedral.
