Parish Cllr James Nicholls

By Chris Dick

Parish councillor James Nicholls today (December 18, 2017) attended Staines Magistrates Court to answer four charges made against him following an incident at the King George V playing fields in Effingham last August.

The four alleged offences were: as a vehicle driver, failing to provide a specimen for analysis; two counts of using threatening language or behaviour or abusive language and possession of an offensive weapon.

After a brief appearance during which Nicholls was only required to confirm his name and address, the case was adjourned until March 28, 2018. No plea was required and no bail restrictions were imposed.

Good for him I say. You don’t see many “Travellers” in the dock for trespass, fly tipping, offensive and threatening behaviour etc. The sooner common sense is applied and they have their minority status revoked the better.

It’s a ridiculous situation to be in yet if we say or do anything towards them we are called racists. It’s mad.
