An elderly woman suffered cuts and bruises as robbers stole rings from her fingers at her home in Pirbright on Friday afternoon (August 19).
Police officers were called to Stanford Common, Pirbright at about 2.30pm following a call from the woman. She had allowed the men into her home after they claimed they needed water for their vehicle.
Once inside, the men held her and forcibly removed four rings from her hands. She was then pushed on to a sofa.
The rings are described as:
Second-hand jewellers are being asked not to purchase any jewellery they believe could have been stolen during a robbery, but to contact police with information.
Detective Sergeant Andy Greaves, said: “This was an appalling attack on an elderly lady who has been left not only with physical injuries but extremely shaken and upset.
“This incident will stay with her for a long time and although we can never take away what these men have put her through, we can, with the help of the public, do our best to bring those responsible to justice and not allow them to gain from their ill-gotten ways.”
Anyone who has either seen the rings for sale, either in a shop or online, been offered the jewellery or who saw anything suspicious in this area around the time of the offence is urged to contact officers with information quoting reference 45160072371.
