If you enjoy drawing but need a little motivation to put pencil to paper then one of the new art classes at St Catherine’s Village Hall may be just the inspiration you need.

Sarah Jane Vickery.

Surrey artist Sarah Jane Vickery will be teaching two workshops this November both of which promise to be a fun and enjoyable way to get your creative juices flowing.

A Canadian born freelance artist and designer, Sarah is an active member of the Surrey Artists Open Studios and exhibits regularly in both Canada and the UK. She works in watercolour, oil, ink and mixed media but her focus is on drawing – a skill she believes is key to improving all other artistic pursuits.

A talented draftsman, her work is light filled with an ethereal quality. She is not interested in rules or realism but instead with capturing the feel of a scene.

If you want to loosen up your drawing style and have a bit of fun at the same time, her classes could be a good fit. She teaches using exercises that help to develop your eye, simplify the subject matter and communicate in your own unique style.
