Fifty Years of Guildford Playgroup Celebrated

A Guildford children’s playgroup celebrated its 50th anniversary on Sunday July 16 with a get together of staff, parents and pupils past and present.

The group was founded in 1967 and has provide education for hundreds of Guildford’s under fives.

Now called Child’s Play Pre-school it was previously known from the late 1990s as Bright Start Pre-school.

The group still meets in the United Reformed Church Hall on the Portsmouth Road in Guildford.

Event organisers were Fiona Yeomans and Sara Scott who said: “Parents, staff and children from across the decades attended to eat cake, reminisce and meet old friends.

“Thanks to everyone who made this such a memorable event.”
