Fire At Ground-floor Flat Believed To Be Arson

Officers from Surrey Police are appealing for information following a fire at a ground-floor flat on Clandon Road, Guildford.

logo-surrey-police-darkBGThe blaze happened just after 7am on Sunday, November 23, and officers are treating the fire as an arson with intent to endanger life.

Witnesses have reported seeing a tall, white skinny man running away from the premises and officers are keen to speak to him about the incident.

DC Nell Rodriguez said: “This was a malicious attack which could have had far reaching consequences to the rest of the residents living in this block. Luckily the fire did not spread sufficiently to cause significant harm.

“I would urge anyone who has their suspicions around someone they know or has any information about this incident to contact officers immediately on 101 quoting reference 45140098965 or pass information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
