Weapons were confiscated from adults by armed Surrey police at the weekend after reports from concerned residents in Wood Street.

A police spokesperson said: “We received reports of a group of people seen with firearms about 2.20pm on Sunday (February 14) at an address in Wildfield Close, Wood Street Village.

“The group was also reported to be causing damage to a derelict barn. Armed officers were sent and the police helicopter deployed.

“The helicopter located a group who were subsequently stopped. A number of air weapons were found.”

The group, including three men and a woman, were dealt with “by way of a community resolution” and the weapons handed over for destruction.
