Guildford Borough Council is proposing to build 18 affordable homes on the site of the now closed Apple Tree pub in Southway, Park Barn.

A public exhibition is being held at the Park Barn Centre, Park Barn Drive GU2 8EN this Wednesday (October 21) from 3.30pm to 7.30pm.

Go along to see the plans and give the council your views.

It seems like a sensible use of this land, although I hope we do not lose too many shrubs and trees at the back of the land ad it would be nice to keep some of the grass area around the buildings.

The illustration shown doesn’t give the impression that good design is much in evidence; however, I shall try to get to see this exhibition.

And, as always, who are they going to be “affordable” to?

We’ve seen some of the ridiculous prices they call affordable in Guildford before.
