Investing in Better Roads for Surrey – Keeping You Moving

We know how important safe, smooth roads are to you – especially during winter when cold temperatures, rain, and frost can lead to more potholes appearing. That’s why we’re making a £300 million investment to repair and improve Surrey’s roads and pavements by 2028. Our goal is to keep your journeys safer and the network moving all year round.

How we’re tackling potholes

To ensure repairs are long-lasting and effective, we’re using a range of innovative techniques:

Thermal Road Repair – Using infra-red technology, this method heats up the road surface, allowing our crews to repair potholes seamlessly with the existing road. This creates a stronger, more durable fix.

Jet Patching – This technique uses high-velocity air to prepare, seal, and repair potholes quickly, helping to prevent further damage.

Viafix – A water-activated material that works exceptionally well in wet conditions, ensuring potholes are repaired effectively even when they’re filled with water. We rely on this from November to March to keep roads in top shape during the wetter months.

Find & Fix – This process allows our crews to repair potholes as they find them while on site, speeding up the process and reducing the need for repeat visits.

How you can help

Your reports help us stay on top of road maintenance. If you spot a pothole or any road issue, let us know – it’s quick and easy to report online: tellus.surreycc.gov.uk

By working together, we can make sure Surrey’s roads stay safe and reliable for everyone. Thank you for helping us keep Surrey moving!
