Rebuilding Surrey’s Water Networks

A dependable water supply is essential for everyday life – whether for drinking, cooking, or washing. To secure this vital resource for the future, water companies across Surrey are undertaking essential upgrades to replace aging water mains. These improvements will help reduce leaks, prevent bursts, and enhance water security for generations to come.

Why Are Water Mains Being Replaced?

Many of Surrey’s underground water pipes have been in place for over a century. As these pipes age, they become more prone to cracks and bursts, leading to disruptions in supply and emergency repairs.

We are working with water companies to reduce these risks and improve the long-term reliability of the water supply. Whilst the water companies are upgrading these aging mains with modern, more durable pipes.

Additionally, new technology allows for earlier leak detection and repair, preventing unexpected water loss and reducing the need for disruptive emergency roadworks.

Minimising Disruption on Surrey’s Roads

We understand that roadworks can be inconvenient, but careful planning ensures that these essential upgrades are carried out as safely and smoothly as possible. We are working with water companies to coordinate works efficiently, provide clear signage, and keep residents informed about any temporary changes.

Future-Proofing Our Water Supply

Investing in water mains upgrades now means fewer leaks, less water wasted, and a more reliable supply in the years ahead. It also reduces the need for future roadworks, helping to keep Surrey’s roads clear and traffic flowing smoothly.

These essential improvements are an investment in Surrey’s future, ensuring that residents and businesses continue to enjoy a secure and sustainable water supply for years to come.
