for Guildford people, brought to you by Guildford reporters - Guildford's own news service
GATA members, Electric Theatre users, supporters, their family and friends are invited to go and take part to renew public interest in their campaign to save the venue this Saturday morning, January 23.
People will be asked to link hands and form a ring around the theatre, from riverside to riverside, to show their united support for the theatre and its continuing use as a community venue.
Those taking part are being asked to wear something colourful if possible, or a top with a club name or logo on it if you have one, as photos will be taken.
Set up will be at 10.45am, the photo at 11am followed by coffee in the Café Bar.

It’s also worth noting that this week the council finally approved the application to register the Electric Theatre as an asset of community value.
This means that if the council ever does try to sell it or rent it out for a long period of time then the community has the right to delay the process and put together its own bid for it.

Well done to GATA for achieving the Asset of Community Value! And for arranging this Hands around the Theatre event!
