In response to: Guildford Conservative Association Backs PM’s Brexit Commitments

Cllr Nils Christiansen [in his comment on the article] is once again mixing up the Conservative group at GBC with the political association.

He is also being mischevious in describing former colleagues, including me, of “abusing” him because he wanted to debate Remain in the GBC chamber. If politely informing him, along with others, that debating Brexit and trying to agree a Remain position within the local council was inappropriate, then I plead guilty.

For the record, I expressed dismay at the presentation of the motion at the Guildford Conservative Association AGM and voted against the motion as I fundamentally disagree with leaving the EU without a deal – but, in a democratic Party, I was outvoted.
