I would like to congratulate Catherine Houston [Lib Dem] on her convincing win.  Also, it was pleasing that the campaign fought by all candidates did not result in the distortions and lies seen at the 2023 borough elections.

I’m concerned, however, that with her current responsibilities as Executive member of our borough council, serving residents as a county councillor as well might be too much for her to take on.

As has been seen with other “double hat” councillors who serve on both GBC and SCC, prioritisation of responsibilities can be difficult.
