In response to: Former Councillor Dies Suddenly

How sad it is to read of Mike Piper’s sudden demise, he was always such a personable and amusing character, with a dry sense of humour and a pretty open political outlook.

It was not any personal reflection on him and Christian Holliday that they were not re-elected, it was just the tsunami of a local political backlash.

It is upsetting when we lose one of the most personable local characters on our political scene and he will be much missed. My thoughts go out to Penny and family.
