Next May’s borough election campaign was kick-started in Ripley on Thursday night.

A brief glance at the numbers is enough to make every Tory councillor’s blood run cold. A 48% swing is enough to unseat every single one of them and, as Lovelace has shown.

The voters are in no mood to show any mercy to this GBC cabal after they have totally reneged on their primary election promises of 2011.

There will be no hiding place for any of them come their day of reckoning.
