Man Appears in Court in Connection with Fatal Guildford Collision

A police notice by the scene of the incident in St Catherine’s last year asking for witnesses

A man has appeared in court in connection with the death of a pedestrian in Guildford in August last year (2016).

Mark O’Donnell, aged 22, died in the early hours of Saturday, August 20 when he was hit by a vehicle on Portsmouth Road, by the junction with Turnham Close, St Catherine’s.

Sean Denham, 48, of Allen Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex appeared at Guildford Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 16.

He is charged with death by careless driving, failing to stop and failing to report an accident. He has been bailed to next appear at Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday, June 13.
