Man Arrested After Teen Girl Assaulted Outside Guildford Restaurant

A man has been held after a teenage girl was assaulted outside Nando’s in Friary Street, Guildford yesterday evening (July 4, 2019).

The girl was attacked in Friary Street about 6.15pm and was taken to hospital.

Inspector Andy Skoglund, who is investigating, said: “We have launched a full investigation following this assault and used multiple resources to ensure a swift arrest. The attack was in a busy area and a lot of people would have seen what happened. We are asking anyone who has not already provided a statement to come forward as soon as possible.

“We would like to reassure people that this was not a random attack and we believe the suspect and the victim are known to each other.”
