Man Arrested For Attempted Bank Fraud Following Media Appeal

Feature Surrey police badge 3A man has been arrested today (November 12) in connection with an attempted fraud at a bank in Guildford earlier this year.

The incident took place at Barclays Bank in North Street around 2-30pm on January 14.

The man was identified and arrested following the circulation of a media appeal earlier this month which included CCTV images of a male suspect.

The 70-year-old man from London has been released on police bail pending further enquiries, and is due to return to Guildford police station on November 27. An 18-year-old woman from London, who was arrested on suspicion of fraud at the scene, is also due to return to Guildford police station on November 27
