Man Seriously Hurt In Assault At Nightclub

A man was left with serious injuries following an assault in a Guildford nightclub in the early hours of Monday morning.

logo-surrey-police-darkBGThe incident took place in the bar at the Legion nightclub in Millbrook around 3am. Two men are believed to have attacked the 23-year-old victim by punching him, causing him to fall to the ground, and then continued to assault him by stamping on his head.

The victim was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital with suspected fractures to his eye socket, jaw, nose and cheek bone.

Two men aged 27 and 28 were arrested in connection with this incident on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They were interviewed and released on bail, to return to Guildford police station on May 28, pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Nell Rodriguez, who is investigating the incident, said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the club at the time, or who saw the events leading up to the assault, to come forward and help us piece together what happened. The victim has sustained serious injuries and we would like to identify those responsible.”
