A man was assaulted with glass bottles in Milkhouse Gate, off Guildford High Street, yesterday (September 13). Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses.
At around 7.45pm police received a report that a man in his early 20s was struck several times to the head with glass bottles in the narrow alleyway leading from the High Street towards Sydenham Road.
Two men are believed to have carried out the attack although it is reported that they were among a larger group who would have witnessed what happened.
A 25-year-old man and an 18-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and are currently in police custody.
Detective Constable Kerry Whindle from West Surrey CID, said: “This was a violent and brutal attack on a young man who sustained serious cuts to his head and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
“I am urging anybody who was there and witnessed the assault that evening or anybody with any information to contact us as a matter of urgency – any information you have could help us establish the circumstances around this attack.”

Perhaps it will bring doctors, nurses, paramedics, teachers or police officers? What I hope it doesn’t bring is narrow-minded bigots.
