A May fair at the Fairlands Community Centre to raise money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Action for Bladder Cancer has been hailed a success.
The fair took place on Saturday (May 17) and £880 was raised that will be split between the two charities.
The chairman of the Guildford and Godalming branch of the BHF fundraisers, Shirley West, said: “We had a great foot flow and everyone was in good spirits.
“A big thank you to the new Mayor of Guildford, David Elms, and his lovely wife Wendy, for attending and speaking to everyone.
“Guildford MP Anne Milton arrived on her bike just in time to draw the raffle. Thanks Anne, you are a star we always love to see you.
“Also a big thank you for all the wonderful donations for the stalls, but a special thank you must go to Pat Tilley for her beautiful cakes and all the the volunteers who helped on the day.”
Shirley added that her comments are also on behalf of Elaine, of Action for Bladder Cancer.
