Accidents on this stretch of road are becoming very frequent. I am sure that I am not alone in feeling a sense of danger when using the northbound slipway on to the A3.

Nevertheless there are plans to develop the area more and in doing so increase this sense of danger with even more traffic using it.

It is very sad that someone else has died on our overcrowded roads. This is only going to get worse with extra traffic from the new homes.

There has been much talk about a new relief road around the edge of the town, but the route of it remains a mystery. I am no expert but if you look at a map there are two probable routes, east or west of Wood Street.

Could I just point out that this was “single vehicle collision” and therefore probably not one caused by overcrowded road. The cause might be inappropriate speed for the location, some mechanical or tyre fault, or loss of grip due to diesel/petrol on the road surface.

Not quite sure where Bernard gets “the northbound slipway on to the A3” from? The accident occurred on the A25 (Midleton Road/Woodbridge Road)nearly under the railway bridge.
