A fourth person has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man on Woodbridge Hill, Guildford on Monday, February 2.

The police say the man, in his 20s, was arrested in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, February 3) at an address in the London area on suspicion of murder.

Police officers continued their investigations in and around the crime scene on Tuesday. Residents have observed officers checking bins, hedges and under cars.

Local people continue to be escorted and signed in and out of their homes.

Officers were initially called to the Royal Surrey County Hospital following reports that a man in his twenties, believed to be Daniel Sommerville of Guildford, had been admitted with stab wounds at around 3.35pm on Monday.

It followed an altercation in Aldershot Road involving the occupants of a black Vauxhall Corsa and a dark coloured van. The injured man was taken in the van to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short while later.

A man and two women, all in their 20s, were arrested in the local area shortly after on suspicion of murder.Surrey Police say all four people arrested remain in custody.
