Guildford’s traditional Christmas lights switch-on takes place on Thursday, November 17 at 7pm.
As well as the usual fun and entertainment for all the family, this year there will be some dazzling new lights to light up the town, provided by Experience Guildford, the town’s business improvement district.
From noon on Thursday you can meet the reindeer and Newfoundland dogs in the town centre, before entertainment gets under way at 4pm on the Experience Guildford stage outside Holy Trinity Church on the High Street.
The mascot parade starts at 5.15pm before the main event at 6pm, the traditional countdown show from the Guildhall balcony, presented by 96.4 Eagle Radio’s Peter Gordon.
There will be an exciting mix of music, panto stars and local sporting stars, including Olympian Liam Heath and Paralympian Anne Dickins.
The switch-on at 7pm will be followed by a firework display, sponsored by White Lion Walk shopping centre.
To close the evening, the Nefarious Picaroons and the Charley Farley Sunday Four will be playing on the Experience Guildford stage until 9pm.
