New Student Reporter Experiences Local Journalism

Laura Neuhas

The Guildford Dragon has another student reporter on the team getting work experience, Laura Neuhaus.

Laura was born in Germany and moved to Godalming aged nine with her mother. She is doing her BA in English Language and Literature at the University of Oxford but still lives with her family in Godalming over the vacations.

She has been involved in various forms of student journalism over her first year at Oxford, namely contributing to various student publications including the Cherwell paper. She was also part of the team that created a new Alumni Magazine for her college and edited the student section.

Wanting to further explore a career in journalism and get involved in the local community, Laura will be writing for The Dragon over summer, under the guidance of the rest of the team.

Earlier this year Laura spent time with the Surrey Advertiser and in December she has a placement organised with the Daily Telegraph.

In her free time, she enjoys reading and going to the theatre. To switch off, Laura enjoys going running or swimming and has recently taken up volleyball.
