Notice: Albury Organic Vineyard Seeking Volunteer Pickers For Harvest

Published on: 30 Sep, 2020
Updated on: 30 Sep, 2020

Albury Organic Vineyards have sent out a huge thanks to the volunteers who have helped them with their harvest already.

The remaining grapes are now ripe so they are looking for some volunteers to help pick grapes this Thursday, October 1, and on Sunday, October 4.

All dates are subject to change at short notice. Harvest is an exciting time, but also a tricky time to organise so they are asking potential helpers to be patient with them.

It’s important to pick the grapes at the best possible time and they need to check acid and sugar levels on a daily basis. Grapes can’t be picked in heavy rain, so they may need to rearrange dates according to the weather forecast.

This year brings its own challenges with regards to COVID-19. They say they have completed extensive risk assessments and have strict safety procedures in place. This means that they need to limit the numbers of pickers at any one time, and will divide volunteers into groups. Volunteers will be asked to wear face masks whilst picking.

If you would like to volunteer, you can sign up via the links below. Detailed information and FAQs are listed when you click the links, so please do make sure you read all the relevant information first.

Thursday 1st October 8.30am – 1.30pm
Sunday 4th October 8.30am – 1.30pm

It is very important that you are able to arrive at the published start time for a health and safety briefing. This will include a COVID safety briefing. Please only sign up if you can attend the whole session.
