The Brigitte Trust is an independent registered charity offering a free service of emotional support and practical help from trained and supported volunteers for adults and their carers living in Surrey and facing the challenges of life-limiting conditions including cancer, Motor Neurone Disease and multiple sclerosis.
It is holding its first ever End of Life Matters Marketplace on Thursday, May 5, from 2pm to 7pm at The Holiday Inn, Guildford.
It says: “Anyone living in Surrey who is starting to think about funeral plans for themselves or a loved one should attend. It is a free event and there will be an opportunity to meet a range of professionals from different types of funeral businesses and end of life planning and care services.”
There will be nine guest speakers and 19 exhibitors. Click here for details.
The Brigitte Trust adds: “Our volunteers provide a listening ear and practical help which is unique and respectful of the needs of the individual and the family.
“The aim is for our clients to live life fully and as well as possible. All volunteers are extensively trained and DBS checked.
“We works closely with a wide range of organisations and understands that supporting people at this stage of life involves many relationships.
“Volunteers can access extra help from social care, specialist partner charities and community support groups within each area. Most importantly, they are one constant in a changing situation.”
