All are welcome to attend a free Christmas service of remembrance at Guildford Crematorium on Thursday, December 9, at 6.30pm.

To book a ticket, call 01483 444711.

Guildford Crematorium.

James Steel, lead councillor for Environment, said: “The special Christmas service is a wonderful place for people who want time and space to remember their loved ones over the festive period. Over the last few years, it has become an important community event. The service also includes an opportunity to light a candle or write a memorial star to go on our memorial Christmas trees in memory of a lost loved one.”

The service is supported by local ministers Rachel Thompson and Geoffrey Willis, as well as organist Jonathan Gainey Brown. They will all give their time freely to make this special service.

After the service, a local string trio will perform a selection of classical pieces while visitors enjoy mulled wine and mince pies.

The memorial Christmas trees and message tags will be located in the Remembrance Court next to the Book of Remembrance and the Flower Room from Wednesday, December 1.

Alternatively, if you are unable to visit, messages can be submitted online or posted on a small card to Guildford Crematorium, New Pond Road, Godalming, Surrey GU7 3DB and the team will place them on the tree for you.
