Free online seminars to help loved ones live well with dementia are being run by Trinity Homecare, a home care specialist company.

The one hour sessions run on Thursday, June 10 at 2pm and 6pm and include a question and answer time with an experienced dementia specialist.

Trinity Homecare said more than half of people in the UK know someone who has been diagnosed with dementia and it remains one of the most feared diagnosis among family members.

Having access to the right information is critical to those supporting someone with a diagnosis so their loved one can continue to live well with dementia.

The events are informal and will be hosted by Angela Pritchard, a dementia champion at Trinity Homecare and who will answer individual’s questions and cover a range of subjects including:

  • Diagnosing dementia early
  • Visual perception of those living with dementia
  • Memory boxes and useful tips to evoke memories
  • Communication, answering repetitive questions
  • The red plate study which discusses how colour can make a difference to how someone with dementia copes with food
  • Validation

Angela Pritchard said: “There is a lack of knowledge that sadly leads to negativity around dementia and this doesn’t have to be the case. We want to break down these perceptions by providing support and information to help more people live well with dementia.”
