There is a fantastic opportunity for free training if you are looking for a job in the care sector but lack qualifications or need some extra support with job seeking.
Starting soon in Guildford is a free fully accredited three-week part-time course in health and social care. Participants will then receive follow-up support to help them into paid work in the care sector.
There are places on the course, in Guildford, starting Tuesday, December 4. The course runs three days a week from 9.30am 2.30pm. To be eligible you must be a UK resident, age 19 or over.
This opportunity would suit people struggling to find work and perhaps who have been in receipt of care themselves at some point.
If you are interested you will need to fill in an application form and be able to start the course on December 4.
Voluntary Action South West Surrey is co-ordinating the programme. David Rose, who will helping and supporting those who take part, says: “I can give you details of the training you will receive, plus how we will find you volunteer work and support you, that will hopefully later lead on to paid employment in the care sector.
“The programme is completely free (funded by Surrey County Council) and depending on your circumstances help towards travel costs may be available.”
