The Institute of Physics and University of Surrey have joined forces for this year’s World Space Week high-street takeover free event all day on Saturday, October 8 at Tunsgate Quarter.
A spokesperson for the university said: “We will have a Mars Rover demonstration from Airbus, interactive exhibits from SATRO, ClearSpace and the Institute of Physics, an opportunity to “Ask an Astronomer” from the University of Surrey any space-related questions, along with academic researchers showcasing an Edge Simulation, Satellite Communications and Stellar Evolution demonstration.
“There will be soapbox speakers, a musical space theatre performance from Ensonglopedia, a string quartet and a variety of arts and crafts activities. Not to mention a planetarium provided by Winchester Science Centre.
“It starts at 9am in Tunsgate Quarter and will spill out onto Guildford High Street. If you want to register for one of the lectures, go to Eventbrite here.
“There’s sure to be something for everyone.”
